Report: Kaspersky Italia suspected of tax evasion for 24 mln euro
ROME, Dec 28 (PRIME) -- Italian prosecutors suspect an unnamed former chief of a local division of Russian antivirus software maker Kaspersky Lab, Kaspersky Italia, of tax evasion for 24 million euros, Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reported on Thursday, citing scrutiny documents.
Investigators say that Kaspersky Italia’s revenue was at 90 million euros in 2010–2015, and the company did not pay the corporate profit tax from this amount.
Prosecutors think that the Italian office acted as an intermediary in relations with a representative office in London, which managed work of the Italian branch. Taxes were paid in the U.K., but the Italian market brought the company up to 15 million euros per year.
